Rebels & Renegades: Youth Political Engagement in the 21st Century

Canada’s Patriarchal political system needs a revolution. And youth need allies – those who are willing to leverage their political capital to include youth so we develop better policies and programs. Not only because it will create more efficient services, but because morally it’s the right thing to do.

A proven track record

Dr. Wraychel Gilmore’s own doctoral research explored how marginalized youth are included in national policy conversations. Her project brought together:

Ambassador Bob Rae, Canada’s UN Representative

Senators Stan Kutcher and Marilou McPhedran

Members and Staff of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council

Order of Canada recipient Irwin Elman

Youth-serving civil society leaders from across the country

This work reflects the depth and strategic rigour that defines all of our research projects. We’re not guessing at what works — we’ve built, tested, and led it at the national level.

What we offer

  • Facilitated conversations with community members, partners, or system leaders that surface critical insight and elevate voices often left out.

  • Side-by-side comparisons of laws, policies, or practices across regions to help clarify opportunities, risks, and potential alignment.

  • Customized tools to hear directly from the people who matter most — youth, community members, staff, or networks — at scale.

  • Structured, reflective sessions that allow for deep discussion, co-creation, and trust-building among diverse stakeholders.

  • Collaborative reports written in plain language, with evidence-backed insights and steps your team can actually implement.

  • Optional post-report sessions that help your staff, board, or partners understand the findings and confidently act on them.

Our Approach

  • No off-the-shelf frameworks, just approaches built with your goals and communities in mind.

  • We combine narrative and data through interviews, surveys, focus groups, and environmental scans, customized to your needs.

  • Power, access, and representation are central. We build for inclusion from the beginning and highlight the systemic conditions that shape the results.

  • We produce clear, accessible findings with practical, stakeholder-informed recommendations you can put to work immediately.

“When you need to reach decision-makers, and ensure voices of marginalized community members such as children and youth are at the table, we will co-create an innovative and authentic approach to help you generate impact.”
